For My Chrissany

As early as sun breaks through the night,
She wakes to greet today's new light.
A toothless grin peeks through baby bed bars,
Waving through our window at all the passing cars.

Her beauty grows as her soft golden curls,
With silk spun strands, God's blessed this little girl.
A day's adventure, complex in her eyes,
Consists of playgrounds, flowers and butterflies.

Her big brown saucers dance in the day,
My beautiful angel, learning new words to say.
"Mama, I love you; Mama, please drink;
Mama, please give me a bath in the sink."

And when her big tears roll off those plump cheeks,
This young afraid mama cries just to think,
She's freed herself, but she's all alone.
All she wants is a proper home for this golden  locked  beauty
With the big brown eyes,
To help ensure she touches the skies.

I love you, dear Chrissany.  I cherish your breath.
With each passing day more fears lay to rest.
Thank you for patience and faith in the Father.
God, please grant serenity to this young afraid mother.

As early sun breaks through the night,
My baby girl, Chrissany, wakes with the light.
